Diana Lebensohn is an artist who proposes a reflection on textiles beyond technique. In Variations she represents the different possibilities and games that the material generates. Starting from photography she investigate the different forms and shapes in the way the Brazilian artist Lygia Clark did with her ( Bichos ) Bugs

Variations is related with other series -Los 15 and Moño Argentino -were textile is reached from her proyectual design. From the installation and photography the pieces are transformed in a puzzle with new forms and reflexions about the structures .
The clothing, our second skin , tells us stories and bring us vital memories of our lives. They have special emotional meanings , when they are inherited

The proposal is the transformation, encouraging the viewer to activate the material. Photography exalts the multiple compositions as well as the beauty of the abstraction of the photographic device and the textile. This can also be seen in Destellos (2004). The piece works as an element to elaborate different points of view. The photographed skirt, inherited from her mother, is open to appreciate its folds with an almost sculptural character. The pleating of the same in metallic tone highlights the contrasts of light and shadow. The skirt's arrangement alludes to the circle, which, as the artist affirms, is a metaphor for the cycles of life.
